Save the Date – Regional Leader Training Sessions 2016
Aboriginal Sport, Recreation & Physical Activity Partners Council – The Aboriginal Sport, Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council is pleased to announce the Regional Leader Training Session dates for 2016. Open to community members passionate about delivering healthy living programs in First Nations, Métis chartered communities, and friendship centres.
Each year five training sessions are hosted throughout BC, featuring two days of workshops focused on health and wellness, providing participants with the tools they need to develop their own community-based healthy living project. Participants have the option of training in either the Aboriginal Run Walk or the Honour Your Health Challenge Program:
- Aboriginal RunWalk: lead your community in a 13-21 week program as they prepare for a 10km run/walk event
- Honour Your Health Challenge: develop your own healthy living project, based on your community’s needs – past projects include creating a healthy eating cookbook, community recreation nights, plant identification walks, fitness challenges, and healthy lunch school programs
All participants who attend Regional Leader Training will be eligible to apply for up to $1000 in grant support of their Aboriginal Run Walk or Honour Your Health Challenge program.
