Canada Basketball – TORONTO, Ont. (November 23, 2018) – Canada Basketball is pleased to announce the 12-man roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers games against Venezuela and Brazil.

Canada visits Venezuela on November 30 at 5:15 PM ET in a battle for the group’s top spot, before travelling to Brazil to conclude the fifth window on December 3 at 5:00 PM ET. Fans can catch all the action live on DAZN.

Head Coach Roy Rana will lead Team Canada and be joined by assistant coaches J.D. Jackson, Patrick Tatham and Michael Meeks.

“As we continue to advance towards our goal of qualifying for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, we are enormously proud that so many athletes have stepped up and are committed to serving the cause and our country,” said head coach Roy Rana.

“We are developing a culture of sacrifice and this group embodies the spirt of giving unconditionally to something that is greater than themselves. We are excited for the opportunities ahead in Caracas, Venezuela and Sao Paulo, Brazil,” said Rana. 

Through eight games, Canada sits atop Group F with a 7-1 record and is followed by Venezuela (7-1), Brazil (6-2), Dominican Republic (5-3), U.S. Virgin Islands (2-6) and Chile (1-7).

In the second round, the three highest-placed teams from each group and the best fourth placed team between Group E and Group F (a total of seven teams) will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China (Aug. 31-Sept. 15, 2019) will be the biggest edition of FIBA’s flagship event with a record 32 participating teams playing 92 games over 16 days.
