Diving Canada – Canada’s Lysanne Richard fourth at Red Bull Cliff Diving Series

MOSTAR, Bosnia and Herzegovina – Lysanne Richard of Montreal remained in third place in the overall standings with one event to go after a fourth place finish this weekend in the women’s 21-m event at the fourth stop on the Red Bull Cliff Diving Series.

Adriana Jimenez of Mexico won the gold medal with 326.9 points, Rhiannan Iffland of Australia was second at 317.1 and Jessica Macaulay of Britain third at 308.55.

Richard followed at 304.9. She won the previous event a month ago in Switzerland which was her first victory in a comeback season. Last year the 36-year-old mother of three missed the entire season due to a neck injury. She ranked second overall on the circuit in 2016.

‘’With that score I could have won one of the events this year and it would have been a medal in all the others this season,’’ said Richard. ‘’I got my first 9.0’s of the season but it was my last dive that was the weakest of three. Still with a strong take-off I managed to get 7.0’s.’’

Richard opened the 2018 season with a fifth place finish in Texas and was third last month in Portugal.

‘’I know what I need to improve for the final and I’m more motivated than ever.’’

Richard returns to Montreal Sunday evening for training then leaves for Italy on September 18 for the final stop on the circuit scheduled for September 23.
