Rowing Canada Aviron – VICTORIA, BC – Friday, September 8, 2017 – Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) is pleased to announce today the appointment of Jennifer Fitzpatrick as Director of Partnerships and Sport Development. 

Working as a key member of the RCA senior leadership team, Jennifer will be responsible for developing and executing the strategic planning and implementation of domestic operations. Fitzpatrick will have oversight, provide direction and manage the implementation of Coach, Umpire and Long-Term Athlete Development, Member Services and Engagement, as well as the Promotion of Rowing in Canada.   

“I am so pleased about the creation of this new role because it reinforces how RCA is truly committed to investing in the domestic portfolio,” said Fitzpatrick.  “This area of our sport is one that I care quite strongly about and I felt the best way to support rowing in Canada was by offering to take on this leading role. I am so looking forward to joining RCA and having the opportunity to work with the entire Canadian rowing community.”

Fitzpatrick currently holds the position of Executive Director at Rowing BC. Since she began her role with Rowing BC she has helped lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, including governance reform, funding campaigns and volunteer engagement. Jennifer also dedicated three years as President of Rowing New Brunswick.

“We have all seen what Jennifer has been able to achieve at a Provincial level,” said Terry Dillon, Chief Executive Officer, RCA. “It is truly exciting for RCA and for Canadian rowing to have the chance to see what she can make happen at a National level. She brings a huge amount of passion for our sport and the desire to make a difference. I know she will make us better.”

Fitzpatrick volunteered as a Director of RCA from 2009-2012, was a member of the RCA Membership Committee, and assisted with the delivery of the FISA coaching conference.

Fitzpatrick will begin her role at RCA on October 16th, 2017.
