Ringette Canada – London, Ontario – April 9, 2016 – After going undefeated all week, the Gloucester Devils faced their first loss when they met defending champion Cambridge Turbos in the National Ringette League gold medal final. The Turbos downed Gloucester 5-3 to claim gold and send Gloucester home with silver. Ottawa Ice picked up silver.
 
Cambridge’s Jacqueline Gaudet, who scored four of the Turbos five goals, commented on her team’s performance shortly after the gold-medal final. “We came in and our first game wasn’t the best, but in the end we accomplished our goals. Gloucester is a good team and we respected them, but we knew we had the talent to execute our game plan and win.”
 
In the U19 division, it was an all Ontario final with Guelph meeting Team Ontario. Guelph picked up a 2-1 win over Ontario to remain undefeated all week and walk away with the gold. Ontario goes home with silver and Alberta takes bronze after defeating the Nepean Ravens 6-3.
 
The U16 division saw an all Quebec final with Team Quebec coming head to head with their provincial counterparts Rive Sud. Quebec, who has gone undefeated all week, downed Rive Sud 3-2 to pick up the gold medal. Singles came from Megane Fortin (Blainville), Delphine Agular (Deux-Montagnes) and Gabriele Lefebvre (Blainville).    
Ontario picked up the bronze medal after beating BVRA Angels (MB) 3-2 in overtime,
 
Games have been taking place at the Western Fair Sports Centre and Nichols Recreation Centre all week. All-stars and the NRL Annual Awards will be announced at the closing award ceremony tonight.
