Baseball Canada – OTTAWA-Former big league All-Star Paul Quantrill will take his rightful place on Baseball Canada’s Wall of Excellence, presented by RBC Wealth Management on Saturday, January 14th, 2017 as the 15th annual Baseball Canada National Teams Awards Banquet & Fundraiser is set to take place at the Northern Lights Ballroom inside the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Toronto.

Former MVP winners Larry Walker and Justin Morneau will also attend the event that acts as a major fundraiser for Baseball Canada’s National Teams program. Retired All-Stars Jason Bay and Ryan Dempster along with 2016 MLB All-Star Michael Saunders will also be on hand as part of a tremendous list of current and former Canadian big leaguers.

“We’ve always been fortunate to receive great support from our big league alumni so it’s exciting to see the list of guys that have already confirmed to attend in January,” said Greg Hamilton, Coach and Director of National Teams with Baseball Canada. “We look forward to celebrating a season of Canadian baseball excellence in an environment that fosters future National Team success.”

Two Toronto Blue Jays legends are confirmed to attend in Baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar along with longtime National Team Manager Ernie Whitt.

Current Toronto Blue Jays President Mark Shapiro and General Manager Ross Atkins will also be part of the evening that features an awards presentation to honour current and former National Teams players and personnel.

In addition to the annual awards presentation, the evening will include a cocktail hour and silent auction featuring unique fantasy sports packages, tickets to the MLB All-Star Game Home Run Derby, NCAA college football games along with several autographed pieces of baseball memorabilia.

There will be a pre-banquet press conference beginning at 3:30pm ET, Saturday, January 14th, in the Aurora Room of the Renaissance Toronto Hotel at Rogers Centre (Aurora Room is adjacent to the Northern Lights Ballroom).

Tickets to the event are $500 per person and tables of eight and ten guests are also available for purchase. Baseball Canada has registered charitable status.
