Swimming Canada – Provincial Records Set During Top 16 Meet
Wrapping up its last swim meet of 2018, Swim Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the results from this past weekend’s Holiday Countdown Top 16 Swim Meet in Truro. Swim Scotia co-hosted the event with the Truro Centurions Swim Club at the Wilson’s Aquatic Centre.
Including the breaking of four individual Provincial Records, this exciting meet saw fast racing and stiff competition from Nova Scotia’s top 16 swimmers in each of the following categories 12 & Under, 13-year-old, 14-year-old, 15-year-old, 16 and older for women and 13 & Under, 14-year-old, 15-year-old, 16 and older for men.
Halifax Trojan’s 12-year-old Gianna Mensah broke Alanna Mason’s record from 1981 in the 200m Breaststroke along with two other Provincial Records; while 14-year-old Madison Bond of the Truro Centurions Swim Club came away with a new record in the 200m Breaststroke.
