Canadian Sport Institute Ontario – TORONTO (February 27, 2018) – Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO) would like to congratulate the 71 athletes, 13 coaches and countless support staff from Ontario, as well as the entire Canadian Olympic Team, for an outstanding performance at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games. The Canadian Team delivered powerful and inspirational performances, captivating the nation.

Team Canada is bringing home a record 29 Olympic Winter Games medals –  11 Gold, 8 Silver, and 10 Bronze, eclipsing its previous record of 26 medals set at Vancouver 2010. The 29 Olympic medals places Canada 3rd in both the Gold medal count and the overall Games medal count from PyeongChang 2018.

  • Through a combination of individual and team events the Games saw 29 Ontario athletes reach the podium, contributing to 8 (4 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze) of the 29 medals won by Team Canada.
  • These 8 medals from Ontario athletes came in the disciplines of Figure Skating – Team Event, Figure Skating – Ice Dance, Men’s 2-Man Bobsleigh, Mixed Doubles Curling, Women’s Hockey, Figure Skating – Pairs, Men’s Hockey and Women’s Bobsleigh.
