Ontario Basketball – OBA looking for member clubs to pilot SportSavvy for their organizations

Ontario Basketball announced Tuesday a partnership with SportSavvy, a leading online sport management system. SportSavvy is an easy-to-use platform for clubs and regional, provincial, and national organizations.

“We are incredibly excited about our partnership with SportSavvy,” said Jason Jansson, Executive Director of Ontario Basketball. “We view this partnership as a ‘game-changer’ for Ontario Basketball, streamlining many of our processes to improve the registration and online experience for our members and staff.”

SportSavvy includes the following features:

  • Easy player registration with multiple payment options
  • Schedule games, coaches, and referees in moments
  • Contact a player, coach, team, league, division, or entire organization with one click
  • Automated rostering based on multiple factors (e.g., age, experience, skill level)
  • Automatic and real-time publishing of game results, stats and standings to your public webpage and to the private player and coach pages
  • Beautiful modern websites

“We are very pleased to be partnering with the Ontario Basketball Association” said Geoff Reid, President of SportSavvy. “With the likes of current Ontario-born NBA players Andrew Wiggins, Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson, along with the success of Kia Nurse and Natalie Achonwa on the international stage, it’s clear to see that basketball is exploding in this province and across Canada. Now with the recent success of the Raptors and the women’s national team qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics, we expect this trend to accelerate. Equally important, clubs recognize that they will want to have in place a system to both help manage this growth and to make their lives easier. We are very pleased to offer our software to clubs of the OBA so that they can streamline administrative tasks and put more resources back on to the court.”

SportSavvy and Ontario Basketball are committed to delivering an exceptional user experience to every member club through in-person support and training, live online training seminars, how-to videos and user manuals.

While additional details regarding this partnership will be announced over the coming months, Ontario Basketball is looking for member clubs to pilot SportSavvy for their membership.
