Nova Scotia’s Top Junior Swimmers to Compete at the 2018 Canadian Junior Championships
Swim Nova Scotia – Winnipeg (MB)- 16 of Nova Scotia’s top junior swimmers will be competing at the 2018 Canadian Junior Swimming Championships in Winnipeg, MB at the Pan Am Pool. The pool competition will begin tomorrow, July 25th and wrap-up Sunday July 29th; Open Water will take place Monday July 30th at St. Malo Provincial Park.
The Canadian Junior Swimming Championships, previously known as Canadian Age Group Championships, is the highest national-level competition for swimmers aged 18 years and under.
There will be plenty of young athletes to watch, including some members of Swimming Canada’s Junior open water team who will use this competition to help them prepare for the FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in September. The field also includes former Halifax Trojan Swimmer, Jade Hannah, member of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games team.
In total, approximately 700 swimmers from 150 clubs are expected to compete from across Canada with visiting competitors from five Countries.
Prelims begin at 9:00am and finals begin at 5:30pm local time daily
