Sport Nova Scotia – Ryan O’Neil received a bronze medal at the Pan American Karate Championships in Argentin in the U21 -67kg division.  Ryan won his first match 8-0 against Peru; his second match 7-0 against Colombia; and his third match 6-0 against Brazil.  He then lost a match 0-2 against his opponent who went on to win the gold medal.  This put Ryan into the reprecharge where he won his final match 8-0 when he fought Guatemala to earn a bronze medal!

Karate Nova Scotia also had 4 four other athletes who qualified and competed at the 2017 Junior Pan American Karate Championships – Tysten Deaveau, Riley Deaveau, Yannick Boudreau and Maddox Fields.
