Nova Scotia Provincial Record Falls at the Canadian Swimming Championships
Swim Nova Scotia – Edmonton, AB- Nova Scotia’s top swimmers continue to improve on day two of the 2016 Canadian Swimming Championships in Edmonton, Alberta with four swimmers in the A final and several others making the consolation finals.
Top swims of the day included Jade Hannah of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club. Jade finished fifth in the women’s 50m Butterfly (27.95) and sixth in the 100m Backstroke (1:03.29). Teammates Sarah Polley finished ninth in the 200m Freestyle (2:05.70); while Keishia Mills finished ninth in the 50m Breaststroke (33.67). During the preliminaries, Keishia set a new Nova Scotia long course Provincial Record with a time of 33.35 in the same event.
Morrgan Payne of the Dartmouth Crusaders Swim Club finished eighth in the men’s 100m Backstroke (58.26).
The competition is taking place at the Kinsmen Sports Center through to Sunday August 7th. Prelims begin at 10:00am daily and finals will begin at 6:00pm local time.
