CAAWS  – Join CAAWS to celebrate influential women leaders in sport and physical activity – Nominate game-changers to the CAAWS Most Influential Women in Sport and Physical Activity List of 2016!

Ottawa, November 10, 2016 – Starting today, you can publicly recognize and honour a woman of influence and impact by nominating her to be included on the CAAWS Most Influential Women List of 2016. CAAWS publishes this List of leaders, game-changers and builders annually to celebrate and promote female leadership in sport and physical activity in Canada and on the international stage.

CAAWS will recognize 20 individuals on the Most Influential List for 2016. New this year, nominators can nominate an influential woman in one of five categories: as a(n) ‘athlete’, ‘coach’, ‘builder’, ‘media’, or ‘one to watch’ (under 30). The List will feature four exceptional women in each category. In addition to the list of 20 women recognized for their contributions and influence, we will award five of those women with a Most Influential Women Award, highlighting them for their particular achievements and influence. There will be one Award for each of the five categories.

Outstanding Canadians such as Hayley Wickenheiser, Christine Sinclair, Stacey Allaster, and Karen O’Neill, have been named to the CAAWS Most Influential Women List in past years. You can continue the tradition by nominating a leader in your field of sport or physical activity for the 2016 List. Who do you think should be on the CAAWS Most Influential Women List of 2016?

Deadline for nominations is December 16, 2016. The CAAWS Most Influential Women List for 2016 will be announced in early 2017.
