The gold medal was awarded to US Region 3 (202.787), while US Region 4 captured silver (199.362).

Mancusi earned the distinction of being the top Canadian rider, showing her 10-year-old Westphalian gelding, Wellknown (Wynton x Havidoff), to a score of 67.273% for seventh place. Top honours went to Jori Dupell of US Region 6, who scored 68.727% aboard Fiderprinz.

“I’ve only had Wellknown for about six months, so it was a great experience,” said Mancusi. “It took a whole village to help me get where I am, and it was really fun standing on the podium with everyone, knowing how hard we worked in order to accomplish this goal. It felt nice to be the top Canadian rider, but it was really nice to know we helped the team.”

Mancusi and her teammates endured the increasing heat, both from stiff competition and the muggy weather, to ultimately hold on to their bronze medal position.

“All of our riders did really well,” said David Ziegler of Beiseker, AB, Chef d’Équipe for Canada Central. “They each put in great tests. I’ve been really happy with how they have been schooling through the last week, so I couldn’t have pushed for it to go any better. The Juniors have been really good at supporting each other today and worked really well as a team.”

Following Mancusi in eighth place was Chase Robertson of Calgary, AB, who competed as an individual. She danced her way to a score of 66.970% with Teresa van Lambalgen’s 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Winsome (Obelisk x Wolfgang).

Canada East placed a respectable sixth in the team rankings on a score of 193.074, earned by team members, Lily-Rose Lemaire of Drummondville, QC, Gabrielle Bouchard of Quebec City, QC, Ariel Boesener of Canning, NS, and Molly Gunyon of Hudson, QC.
