National Bowls Day is Saturday June 4th.  Lawn bowling clubs across Canada will be celebrating with “try-it events”, fun competitions and other social festivities.  National Bowls Day is the perfect opportunity for community members to visit their local facilities and see what the fun is all about.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsor MVP Sports,  registered lawn bowling clubs are entered to win fabulous prize packages of bowls equipment which will help make their programs more accessible for all participants.

Lawn bowling is a strategic sport that can be enjoyed by anyone.  It is played on a large smooth grass surface called a ‘green’.  Lawn bowls are not perfectly round causing them to travel in an elliptical path rather than rolling straight.  Similar to curling, the object of the game is to roll your bowls closer to the target than your opponent. In addition to its highly social nature, one of the best parts about the sport is that it anyone can played by people of all abilities.

Interested in seeing what the excitement is all about?  Contact a facility near you!  You will be greeted by friendly welcoming faces who are excited to get you out on the green enjoying summer’s hidden gem activity.
