Quebec Blind Sports Association  – Montreal, January 31st 2017 – Longueuil goalball player Nancy Morin was named best scorer of the Montreal Open Goalball Tournament (MOGT), with 29 goals in 7 games. The 17th edition of this annual competition took place at the Gadbois Center from January 27th to the 29th.

This year, 16 teams took part in this meeting, including 6 women’s teams, all coming from Australia, United States of America and Canada.

Top honors in the women’s competition went to the team of All Blacks (Ontario), followed by the Thorns (Oregon/Utah) in second and Phantoms (USA) in third.

On the men’s side, top honors of the competition went to the Cyclone (California), followed by British Columbia and Crown (California) in third.

The Quebec men’s team, made of Bruno Haché, Simon Tremblay, Josué Coudé, Tristan Lépine-Lacroix and Rakibul Karim, finished in 6th place with two wins and two losses. The team was coached by Nathalie Séguin, assisted by Lydia Beaulieu.

The Association sportive des aveugles du Québec (Quebec Blind Sports Association), hostess of this competition, thanks the commitment of the 50 volunteers who made possible the event.
