Bowls Canada Boulingrin – Wheat City Lawn Bowls Club of Brandon, Manitoba is the winner of the National Bowls Day registration prize pack sponsored by MVP Sports.

In the week leading up to National Bowls Day, Wheat City saw 19 new bowlers try the sport for the first time. On National Bowls Day itself, the club hosted an open house which saw a total of 30 bowlers, both seasoned and new, join in the celebration.

Wheat City will receive the MVP prize pack of a custom set of 00 sized bowls, complete with National Bowls Day Logo and colouring, an SRPM- the innovative greens pace metre, and 2 Ubi-Launchers, MVP’s exclusive delivery aid.

“We are so excited!” said Kathy Foley, President of the Wheat City Lawn Bowls Club. “We have started a new Monday morning women’s program that attracts 20 new bowlers every Monday and we are in need of smaller bowls. Our club is 101 years old this year and we feel it is on the cusp of growing larger. These new bowls and coaching materials are much needed and will be put to good use.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to award this prize pack to a grassroots club,” said MVP co-owners Dan & Brenda Milligan. “We wanted to create a prize pack that would be used for coaching purposes and the size 00 Special Edition Taylor coloured bowls should certainly help in that regard.

“With the use of the SRPM, the club will be able to accurately test and improve their greens pace, a factor that is key to increasing member retention numbers. Finally, with the Ubi-Launchers, MVP Sports’ own world renowned bowls delivery aid, the Wheat City lawn bowling club will be able to have more inclusive opportunities for their members.”

BCB would like to congratulate Wheat City Lawn Bowling Club on winning this prize pack, as well as all the clubs across Canada who celebrated National Bowls Day.
