Taekwondo Canada – Taekwondo Canada and the City of Montreal are thrilled to welcome over 1200 international athletes, coaches, officials and delegates from 51 countries in less that as week at the 7th annual Canada Open International Taekwondo Championships at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex – Montreal, Quebec.

This signature event will include athletes in youth (age 10-11), cadet (ages 12-14), junior (ages 15-17) and senior (ages 17+) in Kyorugi, Poomsae and Para Taekwondo competitions.  This prestigious competition will run over 3 days.  Kicking off the event will be the Poomsae competition with high flying Freestylers and the artistic laser focus performance from the Recognized Poomsae athletes. 

Day 2, Saturday, October 5th will be the big event, the Senior Sparring Day with Canada’s top athletes bidding to earn more points towards their Olympic Ranking for Tokyo 2020.  Representing Canada will be 2019 Lima Pan Am Games silver medallist, Skylar Park from Winnipeg, World Rank #1 in Female 46kg, Yvette Yong from Toronto, Hervan Mengue Nkogho, 2019 Lima Pan Am Games bronze medalist from Quebec.

The competition for the 2019 Canada Open will take place from October 4 to 6 – Claude Robillard starting at 9 a.m. EST each day. The Opening Ceremony will take place on October 4 at 2 p.m. EST.

October 4 – Poomsae

9 a.m. – Competition Begins

2 p.m. – Opening Ceremony

October 5 – Senior Sparring

9 a.m. – Competition Begins

October 6 – Youth, Cadet and Junior Sparring

9 a.m. – Competition Begins
