Mielzynski captured her second top-ten of the season, finishing in eighth-place. Mielzynski was sitting in ninth-place after the first run. She put down an aggressive second run and despite a few baubles that set her back, she made up time in some sections, netting out in an eighth-place finish. Mielzynski adds this to her season-best seventh-place finish, along with two other top-15 finishes. She heads into the Olympics ranked 20th-place overall in slalom on the FIS World Cup circuit.

Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova took first-pace in a time of 1:50.53 with Sweden’s Friday Hansdotter in second-place. Wendy Holdener made Swiss fans proud, finishing in third-place.

With just 11 days to go before the opening ceremonies at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, this weekend mark the last races for Alpine Canada athletes who are headed back to home for some training, rest and to recharge.
