Equestrian Canada – Ottawa, ON, Jan. 31, 2018 – Canadians continue to impress at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF), having earned multiple top-three placings during the festival’s third week, held Jan. 25-28, 2018 in Wellington, FL.

Megan Lane of Loretto, ON kicked off AGDF 3 on Jan. 25 with a third place finish in the FEI CDI 3* Grand Prix. She scored 71.783% with her 2016 Rio Olympic partner, Caravella (Contango x Riverman), the 17-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare she co-owns with her mother, Cathy Lane and sister, Kelsey Lane. The duo improved on their performance in the FEI Grand Prix Special, earning a 72.383% from the judges for second place on Jan. 27.

“Caravella is a horse I am honoured to ride down centreline with,” said Lane. “We have grown together and neither of us would be where we are today without one another. I am thrilled our results are progressing positively because I really feel the growth in our day-to-day training, too. To be in the top three with my little mare against some of the best competition on this side of the world is exciting, to say the very least!”

Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu of Saint-Bruno, QC also produced notable big tour results in the CDI-W division. Riding her 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, All In (Tango x Damiro), whom she co-owns with her father, Craig Fraser and husband, Marc-Andre Beaulieu, Fraser-Beaulieu earned her highest mark in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle on Jan. 26. The judges awarded the duo an impressive score of 75.650% for a fourth-place finish.

In the small tour, it was Tom Dvorak of Hillsburgh, ON who emerged as a constant threat on the leaderboard. Riding Carla Bahr’s Ribot (Reno x Cor Noir), a 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Dvorak started with a third place finish in the FEI CDI 3* Prix St. Georges with a score of 68.882% on Jan. 25. From there, he and Ribot improved on their scores in the FEI CDI 3* Intermediate I, scoring 70.176% to capture second. They finished on a score of 71.250% for third place in the FEI CDI 3* Intermediate I Freestyle.

Dvorak also competed on the up-and-coming Oldenburg gelding, Cyrus (Contucci x Cor Noir), a nine-year-old also owned by Carla Bahr. Cyrus placed third, right behind Ribot, in the FEI CDI 3* Intermediate I with a score of 67.147%.

Rebecca Cowden, who resides in Califon, NJ, placed first in the both the CDIAm Intermediate A and B classes, with scores of 62.647% and 59.775%, respectively. She was riding Ellen Osborne’s 13-year-old Lusitano gelding, Azeite Do Vouga (Fantasma x Habil).

Competition continues at the AGDF until mid-March, with the next CDI competition taking place Feb. 8-11. For more information and results, visit http://gdf.coth.com.
