Special Olympics Québec – Montreal, June 15, 2016 – The members of the media are invited to the Palais des congrès de Montréal today, Wednesday, June 15, to attend the 19th presentation of the Special Olympics Québec Festival, an annual fundraising event where the world of business and sport come together in support of the sports programs which Special Olympics Québec provides to more than 6,250 athletes living with an intellectual disability throughout the province.

Held under the honorary presidency of Mr. Pierre Laporte, president Québec, vice president Deloitte LLP, this prestigious event will bring together more than 500 guests from Montreal’s business community as well as several sports celebrities including Joannie Rochette, Gilbert Delorme, France St-Louis, Gabriel Gervais and Yvon Lambert, who will be the auctioneer for the evening.

Alexandre Bilodeau, ambassador for Special Olympics Québec and several of our special athletes will be in attendance, including Renée Pelletier and Philip Ste-Marie who will participate to the upcoming World Winter Games in Austria.

Hosted by Sébastien Benoit and focusing primarily this year on our athletes, this event promises to be a memorable evening. The beautiful and talented Ima will perform during the evening. A live auction will offer amazing lots such as Harry Potter themed travel package, a unique visit with Robert Godin from Godin Guitars Co. and a night patrol with the SPVM.

The sports celebrities in attendance will be available for interviews during the cocktail hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
