CALGARY—Members of the Calgary Police Service and Calgary Fire Department will team up with students at Mount View School and many of Canada’s best Olympic cross-country skiers for a head-to-head Nordic Showdown in the schoolyard as part of the Foothills Nordic unique AltaGas Ski-at-School program.
At the sound of the sirens, a six-member squad from the Calgary Police Service will race a relay in uniform against the Calgary Fire Department. With the trails lined by the student body each team will also include two elementary school kids and two Olympic athletes for the unique relay race which will be kicked off by Cross Country Canada’s mascot, Klister – a lightening quick jackrabbit.
The event, which will kick off the official countdown to the Ski Tour Canada in March, will take place at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, at Calgary’s Mount View School.
