Own the Podium – Their Opportunity, Own the Podium and the Ottawa Senators Foundation Set to Launch Unique Program to Help Rebuild Ottawa/Gatineau Communities Through Sport
—Senators Alumni, Olympians/Paralympians to hold day of sport, November 10—
OTTAWA— Their Opportunity (@their_opp), Own the Podium and the Ottawa Senators Foundation (@sensfoundation), will hold a free day of sport for families in Ottawa and Gatineau affected by the recent tornado. The three organizations will join forces to launch a unique program that will provide these families with an opportunity to easily access support for sport and physical activity programs as a means of helping rebuild those communities.
Members of the Ottawa Senators Alumni, Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes along with national and local sport leaders will participate with families in a series of sport and recreation demonstration stations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at West Carleton Secondary School.
Details of the community building initiative coined, “Rebuilding Communities Through Sport,” will be officially rolled out at 11:30 a.m. in the main gymnasium.
