Canada Basketball – TORONTO, Ont. (May 30, 2018) – The media accreditation process for the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers opened on Monday May 28 (12:00 CEST).

Canada resumes the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers with a first-place showdown against Dominican Republic on Friday, June 29 at 7:30 PM in Toronto, before concluding the first-round with a Canada Day long weekend matchup versus U.S. Virgin Islands at The Arena at TD Place on Monday, July 2 at 1:30 PM in Ottawa.

Local and international media representatives wishing to attend a game are invited to apply for accreditation online, through the FIBA Media Portal. Media representatives who have not previously registered with the Portal will need to create a profile before completing their application.

To apply for a specific game each media person must:

  • Log-in to the FIBA Media Portal or create a new profile (only if new user);

  • Select one of the Qualifiers from the event list: African Qualifiers, Americas Qualifiers, Asian Qualifiers or European Qualifiers;

  • Select the game(s) to attend during the first window (max two games per window)

  • Applicants are required to complete all steps and complete all required fields.Creating a profile or logging in to a previous existing account is not an application in itself.

Accreditation procedure for Broadcast Partners (Rights-Holders) and Host Broadcasters will be communicated separately by FIBA Media (tv@fibamedia.com).

Media credentials will be awarded on the basis of the professional history of the applying media, relevance to the event and basketball in general, as well as space availability in the venues.

The National Federation hosting a game will, ultimately, be responsible for the delivery of the accreditation decisions and distribution of badges for any home game, however applying media must initially proceed as described above.
