Gymnastics Canada – June 11, 2016 (Ottawa, ON) – Gymnastics Canada is now accepting media accreditation applications from Canadian and international print, radio, and online journalists and photographers for the 2016 Global News Canadian Championships in artistic and trampoline gymnastics taking place in Edmonton, AB from May 31^st to June 4^th, 2016.

These Championships will play a major factor in deciding the five women artistic gymnasts and one male artistic gymnast that will represent Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio this summer. Rio-bound trampoline Olympians Rosie MacLennan and Jason Burnett will also be showcasing the routines they will perform at the Olympics.

Over 1,000 of Canada’s best national level and high performance junior, and senior artistic and trampoline gymnasts will also be vying for the title of Canadian Champion.

The Canadian team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will be officially announced on June 30^th in Ottawa/Gatineau.

Those requesting credentials should also email a high-resolution photo of themselves to jforget@gymcan.orgto make the on-site accreditation process easier.

Please note: Photographers will be required to wear dark clothing and restrict themselves to designated shooting areas during competition. There will be no exceptions to this guideline. Internet connectivity will also be limited in the media workroom so please plan accordingly.
