Synchro Canada – More than 200 of Canada’s best synchronized swimmers will take to the pool at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre from May 2-7, 2017 to take part in Synchro Canada’s 2017 Canadian Open Championships.

There will be a new element to this year’s event, with the addition of up to 30 international competitors participating. The Canadian Open Championships are now part of the newly created FINA Synchronised Swimming World Series, which features seven different events in seven countries, where athletes compete for prize money and ranking points.

Competitions at the junior level will include Solo, Duet, and Team. The senior competitions will feature Solo Technical, Solo Free, Duet Technical, Duet Free, Mixed Duet Technical and Free, Team Technical, Team Free, Free Combination, and Team Highlight (international only).

Story lines:

  • Canada’s top two duets will challenge each other for the one entry to this year’s world FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
  • Canada’s National Team will reveal its new Technical Routine – in preparation for the upcoming World Championships.
  • The Mixed Duet features the only synchronized swimming event with male and female competitors.
  • Canada’s Jacqueline Simoneau continues her quest to top world ranking in the solo competition.
  • International competitors from Ukraine, New Zealand and Colombia will participate in the event.
