Nova Scotia Golf Association – A cool breeze from the Northumberland Straight made things interesting during the third round of the 2018 COBRA PUMA Junior Championship.

Fresh off her win last weekend at the Nova Scotia Women’s Amateur Championship, Heather McLean has a six stroke lead over fellow NSGA Development Team Member, Sara Cumby. McLean from the Ken-Wo Golf Club is looking to capture her first Nova Scotia Junior Championship tomorrow and has a three-day total of 238.

Oakfield’s Shaun Margeson, maintains the lead heading into Friday’s final round. The current MCT Men’s Amateur Champion, is hoping to win his third straight Nova Scotia Junior title tomorrow at the Northumberland Links. He fired a two over par 74 today and has a three-day total of 220.  Sitting two-strokes behind, is Mark Chandler from the Chester Golf Club. The sixteen year-old member of the NSGA Junior Development Team fired the low round of the day after finishing with a one under par 71. River Hills Golf Club member, Teran Newell is in third place with a three-day total of 228.

Heading into tomorrow’s final round, competitors will be playing for three spots (boys and girls) to represent Nova Scotia at Canadian Junior Boys and Girls Championship.
 
The 2018 Canadian Junior Boys Championship will be at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club in Medicine Hat, AB, July 30-Aug 02.
 
The 2018 Canadian Junior Girls Championship will be at the Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen, BC, July 31-Aug 03.
