Manitoba Figure Skaters off to Skate Canada Challenge in Pierrefond Quebec
Skate Canada Manitoba – WINNIPEG, MB. November 6, 2017 –This past weekend at the 2018 Skate Canada Manitoba Sectional Championship in Virden, Manitoba, nine of our Province’s best skaters were identified to make the trip to the 2018 Skate Canada Challenge Competition in Pierrefonds (Montreal), Quebec.
At the event in Pierrefonds, Manitoba’s skaters will compete against the rest of the country’s highest caliber skaters. The entire event will run from November 29th – December 3rd, 2017.
The competition will feature Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior and Senior level skaters in Men’s, Women’s, Pairs and Ice Dance. Approximately 500 skaters from across the country will compete at this flagship event.
The 2018 Skate Canada Challenge Competition is the only opportunity for Novice, Junior and Senior skaters to qualify for the 2018 Canadian Tire Figure Skating Championships, in Vancouver, BC, from January 8 -14, 2018.
The top Senior skaters, at this competition, will be selected to compete at the Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea in February, 2018.
