Swim Nova Scotia – Edmonton, AB- Tony Liew of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club had Nova Scotia’s top swim of the day in Edmonton, AB at the 2016 Canadian Swimming Championships with a bronze medal swim. Tony finished third in the men’s 50m Backstroke with a time of 26.55, just shy of his best time during the third day of competition. Dartmouth Crusader Morrgan Payne finished fifth in the same event (26.89).

Teammate Sarah Polley set a new 15-17 Nova Scotia Long Course Provincial Record in the women’s 50m Backstroke with her ninth place finish in a time of 30.01; while Jade Hannah finished seventh in the same event with a time of 29.51. Other finalists included Isabel Sarty of the Trojans who finished ninth in the 400m Freestyle (4:27.21).

The competition will wrap up at the Kinsmen Sports Center on Sunday August 7^th. Prelims begin at 10:00am daily and finals will begin at 6:00pm local time.
