Changchun, China, February 28, 2018 – Laurent Dubreuil of Lévis, QC, will be the lone Canadian representative at the ISU World Sprint Championships to be held this weekend, March 3-4, in Changchun, China.

Dubreuil will take part in two 500m races and two 1000m events as part of the competition which will crown a champion based on the cumulative ranking. Each day, one race in each distance will be held, and the only medals to be awarded will come at the end of the competition, based on cumulative ranking.

“I didn’t like my races at the Olympic Games and I know I can do better than that,” said Laurent Dubreuil, who took 18th place in the 500m and the 25th spot in the 1000m at the 2018 Olympic Games.

“I want to prove to myself that I had much more in me and this is why I’m excited to be in China for this competition,” added Dubreuil, who will take part in his sixth consecutive ISU World Sprint Championships. “It’s one of my favourite competitions and a great way to end the season!”
