U18 Girls selected to wear the Maple leaf in France

BC Rugby is proud to report that several provincial athletes have been selected to represent Canada at the U18 European Championships in Vichy, France. The Sevens Rugby Tournament will take place September 10-11th 2016.

The athletes from British Columbia include five girls who have made the roster and two who’ve been placed on a non-travelling reserves list who will still travel nationally and train with the squad. These BC athletes were selected following a closed tryout early last month.

The BC girls have been able to showcase their skills with the BC Elite Girls Sevens Program, supported by ONNI, who’ve had lots of success this year winning tournaments in Las Vegas and becoming the inaugural National U18 Champions at BC Place during the HSBC Canada Sevens tournament last March.

The squad includes a number of athletes located in British Columbia. The teamincludes: Brooke Bazian, Caroline Crossley, Sophie DeGoede, Tausani Levale and Denise Roy. Non-traveling reserves include Sophie Belsher and Shoshanna Semanutafa.
