Inspiring the Future. Together!
BC Sports Hall of Fame – The expressions on the faces of the children from Hazelgrove Elementary said it all. They had just come out of a Hero In You youth education presentation with BC Sports Hall of Famer Thelma Wright and were wide-eyed awaiting the new members of the Induction Class of 2019 at Announcement Day on November 14th. To put it mildly: They were buzzing with excitement.
Whether it was greeting members of the 1968 New Westminster Salmonbellies lacrosse team or high fiving recently-retired Vancouver Canucks greats Henrik and Daniel Sedin, the young students from Hazelgrove were soaking in the power of sport.
By honouring the athletes, coaches, builders, pioneers and media that highlight the history and heritage of sport in British Columbia, the BC Sports Hall of Fame and our partners had done yet again what we do best: Inspiring the Future by telling real life stories of excellence, accomplishment and overcoming adversity.
