Institut national du sport du Québec  – Montreal, March 1, 2017 – L’Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) enthusiastically welcomes the involvement of Quebec universities in the “Game Plan” program. Developed in partnership with Alliance Sport-Études and The Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence in cooperation with the Canadian Olympic Committee, the goal of this initiative is for top athletes to pursue and obtain academic success. This group of Quebec universities is unique in the country and will provide athletes with personalized monitoring adapted to their own realities, such as the possibility of configuring their often complex schedules.

“Game Plan” is a national program of The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) and is supported by The Canadian Olympic Committee, The Canadian Paralympic Committee, and Sport Canada. By assuring the development of the program in Quebec, INS Québec and its partners, Alliance Sport-Études and The Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence, contribute to the improvement and overall well-being of athletes from their entry into Canadian team programs right up to their retirement from their athletic careers. This holistic approach envisions assisting athletes in leading better, more balanced, and more fulfilling lives.

“The assistance and supervision that INS Québec provides top as well as next-generation athletes cannot be limited to the athletic factors of their development.” explained Gaëten Robitaille, President and Director General of INS Québec. This commitment on the part of Quebec universities is part of our approach of surrounding athletes with an integrated team that covers all aspects of their lives. By participating in this initiative, INS Québec is fulfilling its mission of being a ‘catalyst of dreams, one athlete at a time’ to be an essential partner in performance.

Athletes who would like more information on the Game Plan program should contact their advisor at INS Québec at services.athletes@insquebec.org or visit the INS Québec website.
