Research that drives us forward

On January 15, the Women’s Sports Foundation released a report titled Chasing Equity: The Triumphs, Challenges, and Opportunities in Sports for Girls and Women. The report examines the state of sport for girls and women in the United States, focusing on topics such as Title IX, pay equity, media coverage, and health.   To support the findings, the Women’s Sport Foundation has included 31 calls to action addressing the focus areas in the report, including:   Educate parents on the benefits of encouraging their daughters to participate in physical activity and sport.  Foster a supportive climate for girls from marginalized groups by creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment through policy and practice.  Support professional sport league expansion to create more opportunities for women to participate in professional sport.  Reduce gender bias and discrimination in the workplace with deliberate strategies to address each.  Hire, develop and retain more women in sports media.
