Ontario Soccer – Vaughan, ON – Durham United FA women won the 2018 League1 Ontario Championship Final after defeating Woodbridge Strikers in kicks from the penalty mark.

Durham players missed their first two kicks in the tiebreaker, but  agonizing misses from Woodbridge penalty takers and clutch saves from Durham keeper, Sarah Petrucci were enough to send the title to Durham. Durham become just the second team to win the women’s League1 Ontario Championship – FC London the first to complete the feat after back-to-back 2016 & 2017 titles – after first winning the trophy in 2015.

The men’s division then took centre-stage, with a short Matchweek 15 and a full week of action in Matchweek 16 offering surprises at both ends of the table.

Unionville and Alliance are in a fight for the playoff lives as Sanjaxx Lions secured an important win against fellow playoff hopefuls, Masters FA. At the top of the table, Woodbridge Strikers slipped from the top four and thus relinquished their grip on home field advantage in the playoffs after a home defeat to Pro Stars FC.
