Figure Skating – BRATISLAVA Slovakia – Kevin Reynolds of Coquitlam, B.C., is in second place after the men’s short program on Friday at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial figure skating competition.

Sergei Voronov of Russia stands first with 80.21 points followed by Reynolds at 75.35 and Gordei Gorshkov of Russia third at 71.73.

The first medals were distributed in women’s competition Friday. Maria Sotskoya led Russia to a 1—2 finish with Julia Lipnitskaia second. Kelsey Wong of Burnaby, B.C., was 23^rd.

In ice dancing, Mackenzie Bent of Uxbridge, Ont., and Dmitre Razgulajevs of Ajax, Ont., are 12^th after the short dance.

The men’s free skate and free dance are on Saturday. Canada has no entries pairs competition.
