Curling Canada – Canada’s top curlers will have a fresh new look as Goldline Curling has been named the Official Uniform Supplier of Curling Canada.

The long-term partnership will see Goldline provide uniforms to all players and coaches at the Tim Hortons Brier and Scotties Tournament of Hearts, in addition to outfitting all Team Canada players for world and Olympic and Paralympic competition, including the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

“Goldline put together an exciting, vibrant bid and I’m truly excited to see what they have in store for our players’ uniforms,” said Hugh Avery, Chair of Curling Canada’s Board of Governors. “Also exciting is that fans will get a chance to purchase many of these uniforms to support their favourite players on the national and world stage.”

Heading up the design for the new uniforms is none other than Emma Miskew, a two-time Scotties champion as vice-skip for Team Rachel Homan. Miskew has created two sets of designs — one for Team Canada athletes, and the other for provincial/territorial champs for the Tim Hortons Brier and Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

“I love anything to do with the Maple Leaf,” said Miskew. “It was a lot of fun designing the Team Canada apparel and getting to display that Maple Leaf in various ways. And wearing the provincial crest is such an amazing feeling already, my goal was to create something to complement it that would show off the different colours

“The use of sublimation (integrating the cresting and designs into the fabric of the uniform, as opposed to sewing on crests) for the designs made the creativity aspect of the apparel very enjoyable. I’m very excited to see the final product!”

Fans will be able to purchase many of the provincial uniforms (minus, of course, the trademark Purple and Red Hearts that are for players only) at goldlinecurling.com under the Authentic Wear label.

“As we worked on this program a vision evolved,” said Doug Flowers, Goldline president. “That vision blended garments that our athletes would be proud to wear with a fan-wear program that puts curling on a par with the best programs offered by any sport.”

The garments will all be made in Canada, and will be representative of designs and fabrics being worn by Canada’s high-performance curling athletes. The program includes three garment styles — a jacket, a long-sleeve shirt and a short-sleeve shirt, and in each case a name may be added to the back.

Goldine’s Authentic Wear program will support curling in Canada by providing a royalty on purchases to Curling Canada, the provincial and territorial associations and to high-performance players.
