GAGNON CAPTURES 5TH IN ALPINE COMBINED, GUAY TAKES 8TH IN SUPER G
Alpine Canada – The ladies headed into the final alpine combined race of the FIS World Cup season in a three-way tie for the Crystal Globe. Lac Etchemin, Que.’s Marie-Michèle Gagnon, U.S.’s Lindsey Vonn and Switzerland’s Lara Gut were all tied in first-place and vying for the top spot. With Vonn out due to an injury, Gagnon and Gut battled it out during one slalom run and one super G run, while keeping a close eye on Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener who was just a few points behind Gagnon.
