French Webinar: Creating Positive and Inclusive Sport Environments for Transgender Athletes
May 15, 2019
CAAWS - Join CAAWS to mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia with an exclusive webinar featuring the results of Canadian research on sport experiences of transgender women athletes.
This webinar will address important elements for sport practitioners to consider in creating positive and inclusive sport environments for transgender athletes, particularly trans women. Presented by Camille Michon, Monica Bastien, and Guylaine Demers.
Date and Time: Thursday, May 16, 12:00-1:15 PM ET
Based on the results of a Canadian study, this webinar will present trans women athletes’ experiences in order to better understand the impact of sport in their lives. Through the stories of three participants, we’ll present multiple constructive efforts sport leaders can take to create a welcoming environment. We’ll see to what extent the construction of an inclusive environment is essential to the personal growth of these athletes. This webinar will be interactive, and participants will have opportunities to ask questions.
We are grateful to Sport Canada for their support of this initiative.
