Nova Scotia Golf Association – The NSGA has partnered with Women Active – NS, the provincial department of Communities, Sport & Recreation, and the PGA of Canada to offer FREE Female Community Coach training during National Coaches week, September 17th to 25th, 2016.

The Community Golf Coach training will be held at Ken-Wo Golf Club in New Minas, NS on September 24th & 25th. Visit the PGA of Canada website for registration.

The workshop has been designed for the Community Golf Coach who is, or would like to, work with children or youth and is introducing the basic skills of golf. The overall goal of this workshop is to help prepare you to be competent in the skills required by a community coach. We are confident that these two days will be a great opportunity for you to reflect on some of your current understandings of children, junior golf and the environments children want to participate in. Participants need not have past competitive golf experience or instruction.

There will be plenty of opportunities to share your thoughts, opinions and laughter with other Community Golf Coaches during the training. Not only will we have interactive classroom discussion, but we will also put that theory into action by getting hands on practice with outdoor components.

The facilitator is Keri Moffatt, an experienced PGA member who is currently active with successful junior programs using CN Future Links as the core programming. There will be opportunities to learn more about CN Future Links during this workshop. This workshop falls under the Community Stream within the National Coaching Certification Program. Following the training, you will receive an NCCP# with the Coaching Association of Canada (or will automatically be added to your transcript if you already have an existing NCCP# from another sport).

If you have any questions about this workshop, please contact Matt Allen with the PGA of Canada at matt@pgaofcanada.com or 1-800-782-5764 ext. 236 or Andrew Noseworthy with the Nova Scotia Golf Association at 902-468-8844.
