Volleyball Canada – Antwerp, Belgium –  It was a decisive 3-0  (25-16, 25-15, 25-21) win for France over Canada on Saturday in World League play.
 
Up-and-coming French phenom Stephen Boyer contributed 25 points (24 spikes, one serve) to help his team overwhelm the Canadians. Stephen Maar led scoring for Canada with 12 points.
 
Despite losing to Italy last night, France has had a strong World League so far (with seven wins and a loss), and is qualified for the “final six”.
 
Canada has four wins and a four losses in its World League Group 1 debut. The Canadians have one match remaining – tomorrow against Italy, who has not had a stellar tournament with seven losses (with two matches to go for the Italian side).
 
Canada must beat Italy tomorrow, but still the team’s fate is unclear until other matches play out over this weekend.

Said Canada’s coach Stephane Antiga: “Today we were completely dominated by the French side. Yet, we’re still on track for a place in the final six.”
