Lindsay Duncan elected as Vice-President

Ottawa, October 12, 2021 – Florence Klein, from Québec City, has been elected by her peers as the new President and Chair of the Board of Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS). She will chair the seven-member board for a one-year term.

Involved in the sport of artistic swimming for the past 20 years, Florence is “inspired and honoured to serve as President and Chair of Canada Artistic Swimming’s Board of Directors.”

“I look forward to working with my fellow directors, the CAS staff team, our Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations, and all the people engaged in our marvellous sport. I will give my all to continue the progress on our common projects, from the Rise Up! initiative (our action plan for a safe and inclusive environment), to the increase in participation from all potential athletes and the success of our athletes on the national and international stages. My goal is to continue developing a truly shared vision, and I am also committed to enhancing our effective communications in both official languages.”

Florence understands the sport from many different perspectives, as a Master artistic swimmer, a parent, a Club President, a former Natation Artistique Québec Vice-President, as well as chairing several CAS committees and serving as CAS Vice-President.

Professionally, she is an Administrative Manager at Laval University and she brings a background in the legal profession, human resources management, strategic planning and governance, along with many years of volunteering with artistic swimming to the board. “The quality of the individuals who make up the board of directors humbles me,” she added, “and will make it possible to achieve the organization’s objectives.”

Florence succeeds Judi Enns Bradette who served as president for the last four years. Elected as the Vice-Chair of the Board is Lindsay Duncan, Ph.D., of Montréal, Qc. An Associate Professor of sport and exercise psychology in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at McGill University, Dr. Duncan has served on the Board of CAS since 2017 and has been an artistic swimming coach for over 20 years.
