Skate Canada – Some local Sudbury clubs and skaters are about to become a little more famous as Family Channel premieres their latest movie Ice Girls, Friday night at 8 pm (ET/PT). Family Channel is currently in free preview until the end of March. Click here to find your channel number.

Starring three-time world champion and two-time Olympic silver medallist Elvis Stojko alongside Natasha Henstridge (The Whole Nine Yards, Would Be Kings) and figure skaters Michaela Du Toit and Taylor Hunsley, the new movie follows skater Mattie Dane as she struggles to regain her confidence and determination after having her dreams shattered. The movie also features a guest appearance by Olympic champion Tessa Virtue as well as skaters from several Sudbury clubs who play extras throughout.
