Field Hockey Canada – FIELD HOCKEY CANADA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2018 Field Hockey Canada National Championships took place from July 12-22 at the University of Toronto Back Campus Fields in Toronto, Ontario. Amazing action from the U15, U18 and U23 divisions was on display for 11 days. The competition featured over 700 athletes, officials and coaches.

JUNIOR WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM

The Junior Women’s National Team had a busy month. They kicked off July with a home series against Chile in Victoria. Then they took their talents on the road to challenge some of the best teams in the world in a Junior 6-Nations tournament in Antwerp, Belgium. Read about their experiences below!
 

MEN’S JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

Many, if not all, of the Junior Development Squad athletes took part in nationals on behalf of their respective provinces. The following week, 71 junior men donned the red and white in a training camp in Toronto, Ontario. Camp was led by Indy Sehmbi and Geoff Matthews. Without missing a beat, the Eastern contingent of the Junior Development Squad has traveled south to Burlington, Vermont for a four-game mini series against Chile’s U19 squad. SENIOR NATIONAL TEAMS

The Men’s National Team wrapped up their international home series with a 8-1-1 record against Pakistan A and China. Check out the Field Hockey Canada Instagram for game by game results or click here for the event page.
The team kicks off their four game test series against France this week. The series is hosted by Field Hockey Canada in Burlington, Vermont.

MASTERS HOCKEY

The 2018 EXIN Masters World Cup wrapped up this week in Terrassa, Spain. Canada sent three teams: Women’s 50+, Women’s 55+ and Men’s 50+. Check out the Field Hockey Canada Website for results and stay tuned for a full recap.

Five Canadians were appointed to work The Central American and Caribbean Games Field Hockey competition that recently wrapped up in Barranquilla, Colombia. Congrats Bryan Haigh, Austin Paquette, Erin de Sousa, Brenda Rushton & Meghan McLennan for the appointment and successful event!
