Nova Scotia Golf Association – Ernie Sheaves from the Bell Bay Golf Club remains the Men’s Senior leader after the second round. Sheaves shot a 75 during the second round and has a one shot lead heading into tomorrow’s final round. Sheaves came out hot on the front nine, going bogey free and carding a 34 on the front.  He sunk two birdies before making the turn and finished today with a two round total of 145.

James MacLeod from the Annapolis Royal Golf Club is now tied for second. MacLeod shot 73 in back-to-back rounds, leaving him two over on the tournament. His steady and consistent play worked to his advantage through windy conditions. MacLeod started the day T4. 

Tom Banks from the Paragon Golf Club is tied with MacLeod and shot a 75 in the second round. Banks battled his way back after a tough front nine. He finished his round one under on the back nine, which leaves him two over for the tournament. Banks currently leads the Super Senior (65+) division by 8 strokes.

Gerry MacMillan, Paragon, had the low round on day two. MacMillan fired an even par 72, and he is hunting for his third senior title after winning in 2011 & 2012.

Competitors are competing for a spot to represent Nova Scotia at the 2016 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship. The top three plus as alternate will travel to the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls, ON on September 6-9 to compete in the Canadian Senior Men’s Championship. 

The NSGA will also be selecting a team of three (3) Seniors and one (1) Super Senior to compete in the Atlantic Golf Championship at the Fox Meadow Golf Club in Stratford PEI on August 19-21.

Three senior golfers and one super senior (64+) will be chosen to represent Nova Scotia at the Atlantic Golf Championship from August 19-21 at Fox Meadow Golf Club in Stratford P.E.I. There will be a total of 20 amateur golfers representing Nova Scotia at Fox Meadow.

The NSGA will also be selecting three competitors and an alternate to compete at the Canadian National Senior at the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls Ontario on September 6-9. 

The Nova Scotia Golf Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Ryan Thomas Dentistry has been named as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2016 Men’s Senior and Senior Four-Ball Championship. As part of this partnership agreement Dr. Thomas will fund the 2016 Super-Senior Champion (aged 65 and over) to compete in the 2016 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship that will take place at the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls, ON on September 6-9.
