Eden is celebrating their 75th anniversary this summer and they are also hosting the 2016 Men’s Senior. This morning before the commencement of the tournament, three lifelong member’s at Eden were recognized with an honorary tee shots. George Marshall, Matt Pembleton and Ron Lister were the member’s who kicked off the tournament. 




Ernie Sheaves, Bell Bay, is the first round leader at the 2016 Men’s Senior. Sheaves fired a two under par, 70 in the opening round. His four birdies were enough to give him a one stroke lead. Sheaves won the 2014 Men’s Senior at Digby Pines Golf Club. 


Tom Banks, Paragon, sits in second place after an opening 71. Banks had a consistent round and knocked down three birdies. Banks is a two time NSGA Four Ball Champion, he won in 2011 at Berwick Heights & 2012 at Eagle Crest Golf Club.


Tom McDonell, Oakfield, is in third place after an even par first round, 72. McDonell finished strong with a nine straight pars on the back nine.

Three senior golfers and one super senior (64+) will be chosen to represent Nova Scotia at the Atlantic Golf Championship from August 19-21 at Fox Meadow Golf Club in Stratford P.E.I. There will be a total of 20 amateur golfers representing Nova Scotia at Fox Meadow.

The NSGA will also be selecting three competitors and an alternate to compete at the Canadian National Senior at the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls Ontario on September 6-9. 


The Nova Scotia Golf Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Ryan Thomas Dentistry has been named as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2016 Men’s Senior and Senior Four-Ball Championship. As part of this partnership agreement Dr. Thomas will fund the 2016 Super-Senior Champion (aged 65 and over) to compete in the 2016 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship that will take place at the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls, ON on September 6-9.
