Diving Plongeon Canada – Montreal, March 29, 2018 – Diving Canada is thrilled to announce that YUL Condominiums, a residential project downtown Montreal, has signed on as a national team sponsor. The announcement was made in one of the two residential towers that are rising in the heart of the metropole.
“The sport of diving reflects the same values that inspired our team when taking on projects like YUL: commitment to excellence, beauty, strength and innovation,” said M. Kheng Ly, Founder, President and CEO of Groupe Brivia. “We would like to express our passionate support to the team as they compete on a global stage proudly representing our beloved city.”
The sponsorship was unveiled with less than a week to go before the opening ceremony at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where Meaghan Benfeito, three-time Olympic medalist, will be Team Canada’s flag bearer.
“Competing in Gold Coast comes with a lot of excitement, but also some pressure. Knowing that Canadian supporters, my family and sponsors like YUL are behind me makes a big difference,” said Benfeito, who will be defending her Commonwealth Games titles in the women’s 10m and women’s 10m synchro events.
According to Penny Joyce, Chief Operating Officer at Diving Canada, this new team sponsorship is even more fitting with the FINA Diving World Series coming to the Montreal Olympic Park’s Sports Centre April 27-29,
“Montreal has been the main home to our national program for a long time. So, it means a lot to have a company who is tied to the local community to support our athletes and coaches who so proudly represent this city, the province and our country continuously on the international stage,” she said.
