Golf Ontario – COBOURG— The Investors Group Ontario Senior Men’s Championship will take place July 24-26 at Dalewood Golf Club in Cobourg, Ontario. The host club has been very busy preparing the course for championship conditions.

The three-round 54-hole championship will see the best senior men’s golfers, age 55 and older will be competing for the provincial title. Players qualified for the championship through one of eight qualifiers held in June and July. The golfers are playing for the chance to represent Ontario at the Canadian Men’s Senior Championship September 4-7 at Gowan Brae Golf Club.

The format will see two days of competition before the field is then cut to the lowest 60 scores, including ties for the final round. In addition to the main championship, the top 65 and over and the top 70 and older players will be recognized.

The field includes many players who already know what it takes to capture provincial gold including last year’s winner John Murphy and should be interesting to see who is atop the leaderboard at the end of the tournament.

The action gets underway on July 24 at 7:30 a.m. and as always, spectators are welcome to take in the action free of charge, at Dalewood Golf Club.
