Canadian Interuniversity Sport – OTTAWA (CIS) – Head coaches Blake Nill and Danny Maciocia announced Monday their coordinators for the 14th annual East-West Bowl, which is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal, live on CIS-SIC.tv.

The East-West Bowl features – for the most part – CIS players heading into their Canadian Football League draft year. McGill University hosts the event for the second straight year.

In addition to the prospects game, the 2016 edition includes three days of practices starting on Wednesday, a combine for participating players and a CFL free-agent camp, both on Wednesday, as well as the traditional banquet on Friday evening. A detailed schedule is included below.

As announced last month, Nill, who last fall led the UBC Thunderbirds to their first Vanier Cup title since 1997, will be at the helm of the West team on Saturday, while Maciocia, whose Montreal Carabins have reached the CIS national final each of the past two seasons, will be in charge of the East squad.

Nill’s coordinators at Molson Stadium will be Mark Surya (offence) and Dwayne Cameron (defence), both from the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, as well as one of his assistant coaches with the Thunderbirds, Paul Orazietti (special teams).

Maciocia has put his offence and defence in familiar hands, with Carabins assistants Adamo Iadeluca and Fabrice Raymond filling the positions, while Bishop’s Kevin Mackey will handle special teams duties.

The coaching staffs will be completed later this week.

For the most part, the East team is comprised of players from the AUS and RSEQ conferences as well as Carleton, Ottawa and Queen’s, while the West contingent is made up of student-athletes from Canada West and the remaining OUA universities.
