David Bedford
Executive Director, Team Canada 2018
As Owner/President of Sizzle Communications, David brings over 35 years of sports and entertainment expertise. A graduate of Laurentian University (Sports Administration) and Concordia University (Commerce), David began his career in sports business with the National Hockey League.  Highlights of David’s career include being VP Olympic Marketing Worldwide for IMG; Executive Director, Marketing and Communications for  the Canadian Olympic Committee (including through the 2010 Olympic Winter Games); and SVP Business Operations for the Toronto Argonauts.  David was also VP Marketing and Sponsorship for the 100th Grey Cup.  A long time volunteer in sport, David was President of Water Polo Canada, and sat on the COC Board of Directors, Team Selection and Games Management Committees.  David was Chef de Mission for the 2004 Canadian Olympic team.  In 2012 David was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to sport in Canada.

Manager, International Programs
A graduate of McGill’s Institute for the Study of International Development (ISID), David has lived and worked on three continents and traveled to over 50 countries. He has fundraised for, and visited, development projects in Tanzania, Kenya, and Lesotho, and volunteered with two international development organizations. Recently David helped launch an internship program with Cuso International and Canada’s leading business school. He has been a long-time coach and is a proud parent of three young adults, one of whom was a nationally ranked athlete.
